Please read the following terms and conditions carefully as you will be bound by them in booking a trip with China Connection.

 

Booking terms and conditions

By booking a trip with China Connection, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions that outline, among other things, the cancellation policy and certain limitations of liability.

Reservation

Reservations are accepted in complying with completed reservation forms (fax or scanned copies are acceptable). Early reservations are recommended as all services are on a request basis.

Deposit

A non-refundable, but extendable and transferable (except Japan program) deposit of USD/CAD $300.00 per person per tour is required at time of booking to confirm your request for any departure. If bookings made within 60 days from departure, full payment is due at time of booking is confirmed.

Final Payment

Full and final payment is required 60 days prior to first service being provided. It is not incumbent on China Connection to remind you of the final payment due date and failure to remit any amount owing may result in automatic cancellation of your reservation and forfeiture of any deposits paid.

Form of Payment

China Connection accepts cheque, money order, bank draft and credit card (visa and master) as form of payment.

Canadian resident can pay tour fare by visa or master card. Credit card payment must be accompanied by a completed authorization form with front and back page copies of client’s credit card. By paying with a credit card the client agrees that any refund claims and/or discrepancies on non-delivered services will be sent to the Company and that the client waives and relinquishes any and all rights to charge back items against the credit card.

For travellers outside of Canada, China Connection accepts wire transfer as form of payment. All bank transfer charges involved are at passengers’ own responsibility.

For bookings within 30 days from departure, China Connection accepts money order, bank draft and wire transfer as form of payment only. All bank transfer charges involved are at passengers’ own responsibility.

Cancellation by client, Refunds & Changes

All cancellation requests from clients must be made in writing. The date on which the request to cancel is received by China Connection will determine the cancellation charge applicable.

Penalties for cancellation as follows:
1. 60 days or more prior to first service being provided: deposit could be transferred to another passenger or deposit could be kept by China Connection for 3 consecutive years from the date deposit was received, providing passenger’s written notice to China Connection. If no future travel occurs in 3 years, you will lose your deposit. (For Japan program, if you decide to cancel, you will lose deposit)
2.  59 to 30 days prior to first service being provided: 50% of tour cost non refundable per person
3.  29 to 0 days prior to first service being provided: 100% of tour cost non refundable per person
4.  Cancellation charges also apply to additional accommodations reserved prior to and after the tour.

*Plus any unrecoverable deposits paid to airlines or suppliers. If flight changes are requested or if flights are cancelled after tickets are issued, change fee or airline cancellation charges will be applicable in accordance with the carrier’s policy. If an air-inclusive tour is cancelled after air tickets have been issued, refunds will be processed after return of air tickets.

Price & Currency Fluctuation

All prices on our website or on a customized itinerary includes planning, communication, handling and operational charges and are quoted at the current rate of exchange and tariffs. In the event of a market increase of foreign currency exchange rate which is beyond the China Connection’s control, costs are subject to revision. China Connection reserves the right to alter the price of any tour at any time should this occur. To minimize the inconvenience to the travellers, China Connection will try its best to notify the travellers of such cost increases 60 days prior to departure if not sooner. If price increase is more than 7%, not resulting from GST, PST, HST, passengers have right to cancel their trip and obtain a full refund not including international airfare which is subject to airline’s policy providing air ticket has been issued.

If full payment is received by China Connection, no price increase occurs.

Client information

Passengers must provide China Connection all personal details at time of booking, including passport information with a copy of valid passport, health conditions, etc. to enable suppliers and carriers to operation of the service requested. If passport was renewed afterward, China Connection should be informed immediately. Wrong information may result in deny of boarding.

Travel Consent for children

If the adult accompanying the child is not the child’s parent, a “Parental Consent Guardianship Form” must be signed by the parent or legal guardian and submitted to China Connection before departure.

Cancellation of a tour by the Company

China Connection reserves the right to cancel the tour prior to departure for any reason. Liability for such cancellation is limited to full refund of money received by China Connection and this will constitute full settlement with the tour member. China Connection is not responsible for any incidental expenses or consequential losses that the client may have incurred as a result of the booking such as visas, vaccinations, non-refundable flights or rail, loss of earnings, loss of enjoyment, etc…

Where a significant element of the trip cannot be provided, China Connection will make suitable alternative arrangements for the continuation of the trip. If it is not possible to provide a suitable alternative or the client reasonably rejects any suitable alternatives, China Connection will provide the client a refund of unused tour portions.

If tour fare is paid by credit card, the refund must be returned to original credit card only.

Unused Service

No refunds will be made for any unused portion including hotels, sightseeing tours, cruises, transfers, meals, international or domestic flights. This includes voluntary of involuntary termination/departure from tour, e.g. sickness, death of a family member etc.

Medical review

  • It is clients’ responsibility to provide any medical conditions, pregnancy, physically challenged conditions or any other mental and or physical condition which may affect fitness to travel and or any medical condition. Such information provided by clients’ should be honest completion of this form with assist all concerned in an emergency situation. Failure to notify the company may result in the client being refused travel.
  • We cannot provide advice of a medical nature.
  • It is clients’ responsibility to get approval from their medical practitioner for any trips provided by China Connection if they have pre-existing medical conditions.
  • For certain trips, we reserve the right to request doctor’s approval for participation. It will be included in your documents. Doctor’s approval should be submitted along with final payment. If fail to do so, we keep right to treat the booking as cancelled, and applicable cancellation penalties apply.
  • Tour participants must also ensure that they comply with all health requirements of countries they intend to visit. Any inoculations required must be recorded on a valid inoculation certificate and in your possession for inspection at customs/immigration if requested.
  • China Connection and its suppliers reserve the right to accept or decline any tour member should it be determined that the participant’s health, mental or emotional condition or physical needs impedes with the smooth operation of the tour or the rights, welfare or enjoyment of the other tour members. The refund of the unused land tour services is limited to China Connection liability when these rights are exercised.

Website Validity

The prices in website are based on rates and costs in effect at time of posting on the website. China Connection reserves the right to alter prices.

Guaranteed departures

China Connection guarantees all tour departures with minimum 2 adult passengers travelling together, or otherwise specified. If passengers are reluctant to travel with minimum capacity, they must notify China Connection at time of booking. If there is no other passengers sign up on the same departure beyond 60 days from departure, travellers have right to cancel booking or transfer to another departure with written notification to China Connection.

Travel Documents

Passengers must be in possession of a valid passport required for entry, departure and travel through each destination according to their travel itinerary. Passport must be valid 6 months past the return date. All visas, permits and certificates including vaccination certificates, insurance policies, required for the whole of the journey.

All China Connection travel documents will be sent via email to passengers 30 days prior to first service being provided.

Insurance

To protect yourself against cancellation charges or any injury during the trip, China Connection highly recommends the purchase of adequate Cancellation, Health or Comprehensive insurance. It is passengers’ own responsibility to purchase travel insurance. It is mandatory that all passengers obtain travel insurance for some itineraries, which will be clearly specified in each itinerary.

Suppliers Conditions

Hotels, airlines, railways, coach and shipping companies and other suppliers have their own booking conditions or conditions of carriage, and passengers will be bound by these as far as the relevant transport provider or supplier is concerned.

Airline Clause

The airline[s] concerned is not to be held responsible for any act, omissions or event during the time passengers are not on board their aircraft. The passenger tickets in use by the airline, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airline and the passenger.

Airline Schedule Change

In the event of airline schedule change, additional cost for accommodations, food, beverage and all other related expenses should be at passengers’ responsibility.

Schedule Check and Connecting Flights

Flight schedules are subject to change without notice. Passengers having purchased air tickets must reconfirm their return flight within 24 to 72 hours prior to the scheduled take-off time. China Connection undertakes to notify customers reasonably in advance through means it deems appropriate of any schedule changes resulting in the advancement or delay of the flight departure times or in case of cancellation of a flight. Whenever customers book connecting flights, they must allow sufficient time to make their connection. No control can be exercised over air carriers to guarantee flight schedules, which may be altered or affected by various circumstances. China Connection will not be liable for any change of schedule or a missed flight connection, including any additional fees incurred and special, incidental or consequential damages (including the carriage of baggage) arising from the foregoing, whether or not it had the knowledge that such additional fees or damages might be incurred.

Local conditions

Passengers acknowledge he or she will be visiting places where the political, cultural and geographical attributes present certain risks, dangers and physical challenges greater than those present in his or her daily lives. By booking travel with China Connection, passengers acknowledge she or he has considered the potential risks, dangers and challenges, and expressly assumes the risks attendant to such travel conditions. The client is solely responsible for acquainting themselves with customs, weather conditions, physical challenges and laws in effect at each stop along the itinerary, and are encouraged to locate or make contact prior to embarkation with his/her local embassy or consulate in each destination.

Accommodations

Deluxe, Superior, First Class or best available in remote areas with private washroom will be provided during your trip. Full buffet breakfast will be provided in the hotel, however, in some remote areas, such as Tibet, Turpan, or 3 star hotels, choices may be limited. All hotel taxes, service charges and government taxes are included in the prepaid tour price. Accommodations included are always based on 2 persons sharing a twin/double room or cruise cabin, and 4 persons sharing a rail cabin. Single room supplements apply to all persons requesting a room for single occupancy and requests for a rail cabin solely used by 2 passengers may not be available. Requests for upgrading rooms are subject to additional charges. Where available, handicapped or non smoking rooms are always on a request basis but may subject to additional costs. The right is reserved by the supplier to substitute hotels/cruise line when necessary from those listed in the brochure of final tour documents for reasons of our/their own high standards, for client comfort and for any reasons beyond our/their control.

Independent contractor/Shore tours

Tours, including pre or post cruise and other shore excursions including hotels, restaurants and transportation, whether by vessel, air, rail, land or other means, not owned or operated by China Connection are not under the operation or control of China Connection, and China Connection makes no representation of any kind as to them, and takes no responsibility for them.

Force Majeure

China Connection shall not be liable for failure in the performance of any of its obligations, including without limitation, for any loss or damage resulting from any delay, cancellation, loss of personal belongings, illness, bodily injury, accident, death, deterioration of Travel Services, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment, disappointment or frustration, either mental or physical, due to:
*  An Act of God or Force Majeure;
* A war, revolution, insurrection, riot, blockage or any other unlawful act against   public order or authority, including an act of terrorism or threat thereof;
* Fire, flood, explosion, earthquake, epidemics, quarantine, storm, lightning, tornado or adverse weather conditions generally;
* Accident to or failure of an aircraft or equipment used in connection therewith, loss of or hijacking of an aircraft, or any shortage of or inability to provide labor, fuel or facilities;
* Any strike, lock-out, labor dispute or other industrial disturbance whether involving China Connection’s employees, the employees of its service providers or others upon whom China Connection relies;
*  Any government order, regulation, action or inaction or any failure to obtain the approval of a government authority having jurisdiction in the circumstances as may be required to the conduct of operations hereunder or any government or legal restraint upon such operation;
* Others upon whom China Connection relies for the performance of the whole or any part of any Travel Services hereunder;
* Any other causes beyond the reasonable control of China Connection and any other event not reasonably to be foreseen, anticipated or predicted, whether actual, threatened or reported, which may interfere with the operations of China Connection or of its service providers.

Errors and Omissions

China Connection has made a concerted attempt to verify the accuracy of statements made herein and China Connection cannot be held responsible for any error, omission or unintentional misrepresentation that may appear on our website.

Privacy Policy

China Connection will provide passengers’ personal information to suppliers and carriers to enable the operation of the service requested. China Connection will do all reasonably possible in endeavouring to protect personal information. If you do not agree on this practice, please do not use our service.

Claims and Complains

Any complaint must be brought to the attention of the tour leader or local guide or local tour operator manager immediately while on the tour in order that China Connection is provided the opportunity to rectify the matter. Any claim against China Connection must be filed in writing and be received by China Connection within 30 days upon completion of the tour. China Connection will not accept any liability for claims received after this period.

Updating of Terms and Conditions

China Connection reserves the right to update and amend these terms and conditions at anytime. It is the responsibility of the client to keep updated with any changes. The current version of terms and conditions will always be found on the website www.chinaimpression.com and will be the terms referred to in any dispute.

LAWS

The laws of the province in which China Connection is located govern this agreement. Any legal action instituted against China Connection must be heard before the courts of Ontario, Canada.
